The Tripura State Pollution Control Board (TSPCB), on June 10, 2025, notified regarding the implementation of revised Industrial Categorization.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that to ensure a smooth transition and avoid legal complications during the implementation of the revised industrial categorization, the Tripura State Pollution Control Board (TSPCB) has issued interim guidelines effective immediately and until further notice:
• Industrial units and project proponents are permitted to apply for Consent to Establish (CTE) or Consent to Operate (CTO) through the OCMMS and SWAAGAT portals using the earlier categorization (as per Notification dated 10/09/2020), until the updated categorization list is integrated into the portals.
• Consent fees may continue to be paid as per the earlier categorization during this interim period.
• However, the grant and issuance of Consent Certificates (CTE/CTO) will follow the revised categorization norms as per the Notification dated 30/04/2025, even if applications were submitted under the previous classification.
